T-Mobile's latest Galaxy S II update silently removed 'universal search' feature

As you may or may not know, there's been an issue related to the [universal search](http://www.engadget.com/tag/universal+search/) feature inside a region-specific batch of [Samsung Galaxy S IIIs](http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/25/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-review/); with the Korean company going as far as ["inadvertently" removing it](http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/26/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-universal-search-function-reinstated/) from some Euro handsets a while back, before eventually [bringing it back to life](http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/27/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-universal-search-ota-update/). Now, thanks to great, thorough inspecting by the folks from _Android Police_, it appears [T-Mobile's _S II_ flavor](http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/11/t-mobile-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-review/) is the latest galactic slab to have such searching trait completely wiped out from the device. Apparently, this took place during the [T989UVLH1 update](http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/28/t-mobile-gs-ii-isis-update/) from T-Mo a couple of days ago, but much to everyone's surprise, mentions of any "universal search" tweaks were nowhere to be found on the changelog.
