Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Student Edition bundle let loose at Best Buy ahead of schedule

We'd originally been tipped that Samsung's [Galaxy Tab 7 2.0][3] Student Edition, a $250 bundle which comes with a keyboard dock and USB connector for peripherals, would [_officially _hit Best Buy's shelves around August 19th][4], but it appears asking nicely might score you one now. According to an email from tipster, Jason (who's also posted details over at _Phandroid's_ forums), the unit was locked inside one of the store's cages and simply asking how much it was let him proceed to checkout with nary an issue (see the photo for proof). If you'll recall, we deemed the slate as a solid performer in our [review][5], but only features 8GB of storage, a dual-core 1GHz and the same 1024 x 600 same resolution of its [predecessors][6] -- so unless your hell-bent on having a rear camera, we'd be remiss not to remind you that the Jelly Bean- and Tegra 3-loaded 8GB [Nexus 7][7] clocks in at $200 by its lonesome. That said, it may be worth trying your luck at your local Best Buy if you're not so concerned with top-tier specs and okay with Samsung's TouchWiz-ified variety of Ice Cream Sandwich.
