ZTE just can't get enough mobile OS's. The manufacturer is [all over Android](http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/30/zte-grand-x-in-intel-powered-ics-smartphone-launch-date/), it's got Windows Phone 8 coming out of [leaky pores](http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/18/zte-windows-phone-8/), and now it's revealed plans to launch phones based on the [Firefox OS](http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/19/download-nightlies-of-firefox-os-get-your-own-hands-on/) (formerly "[Boot to Gecko](http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/28/mozilla-boot-to-gecko-hands-on-video/)") as early as the the first quarter of next year. That's not so surprising, perhaps, given that Mozilla already told us it was [working with ZTE](http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/02/mozilla-says-a-slew-of-carriers-and-handset-makers-set-to-suppor) to bring its HTML-5 powered platform to life, but it further emphasizes the fact that Chinese smartphone giants are casting about for a [viable alternative to Google](http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/15/google-wants-better-compatibility-for-android/).
