Sony's PlayStation Mobile Developer Program officially kicks off, SDK ready for prime time

After [unveiling plans](http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/04/htc-joins-sony-as-a-maker-of-playstation-certified-handsets-pla/) for PlayStation Mobile last summer, [opening the storefront](http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/03/sony-playstation-mobile-store-now-live/) and letting its software development kit [marinate in beta](http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/19/playstation-suites-open-beta-sdk-available-to-download-now/) for roughly a year, Sony has finally given the dev platform the "go" (no, not [that one](http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/21/psp-go-to-america-im-not-dead-yet/)) for launch. Developers eager to create games and apps for PlayStation-certified Android tablets and smartphones -- and even the [PS Vita](http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/19/ps-vita-2-0-firmware-available/) -- can download the SDK so long as they're willing to shell out $99 a year for the chance to publish as many titles as they wish.
